Elliot got his first professional haircut today – but at home!  He has got a few haircuts from Valya (whom he calls “nyanya”), but it was time for a real haircut.  We invited a hairdresser Elena, who also happens to be a vocal teacher, to come over to our house and give haircuts to mommy, Alex and Elliot.  Mommy was first, while Alex and Elliot were napping.  Then, just as mommy was finishing up, Alex woke up and ran into the living room.  He got his haircut while watching the Planes animated movie.  Then, just as Alex was finishing up, Elliot arrived with Valya from his nap (he still naps outside!), so he was next.  Having the Planes movie on helped.  Elliot was sitting in his mommy’s lap, with his head on her chest, watching the movie, while Elena cut his hair, first on one side, then on the other side. Elliot only cried one, for just a few seconds, and then calmed down again.  He looks so grown-up with his new haircut!
